Veneto: Extreme weather conditions have been wreaking havoc across Europe, and Italy recently experienced a calamitous hailstorm, leaving more than 100 people injured.
According to reports from international media, a severe hailstorm struck the Veneto region in northern Italy.
During the hailstorm, hailstones the size of tennis balls rained down, causing injuries to approximately 110 individuals.
The reports further indicated that the heavy hail caused significant damage to properties, with many buildings suffering losses due to the impact of the large-sized hailstones.
Additionally, strong winds uprooted numerous trees and brought down power lines.
Following the incident, emergency services in the area received over 500 calls for assistance.
Swiftly responding to the emergency, rescue teams reached the affected locations to provide aid and clear roads of broken glass, fallen trees, and other hazards.
Local authorities have reported that a considerable number of injuries were caused by shattered glass due to the forceful impact of the hailstones.
Injured individuals were promptly attended to by medical professionals who provided them with immediate medical attention.
