Islamabad: Pakistan's Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, where they discussed matters of mutual interest, including potential disruptions in global food supplies due to the expiry of the Black Sea Grain Initiative.
They also exchanged ideas on enhancing bilateral cooperation in various sectors.
Bilawal expressed satisfaction over the positive discussion with Sergey Lavrov on mutual and other issues.
During the phone call, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized that the expiry of the Black Sea Grain Initiative could have adverse effects on food security and exacerbate inflationary challenges worldwide.
He proposed extending the initiative's duration through discussions with stakeholders.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari showed confidence in recent engagements with Ukraine and Turkey regarding the matter and assured Sergey Lavrov of Pakistan's unwavering support.
Furthermore, Bilawal extended an invitation to Sergey Lavrov for an official visit to Pakistan, reaffirming Pakistan's commitment to maintaining strong bilateral ties in the future.
