Sheikh Rasheed lambastes PDM govt

Rawalpindi: Awami Muslim League chief and former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed on Thursday lambasted PDM govt for bulldozing bills in parliament and not addressing issues of poor people.

Rasheed stated that National Assembly (NA) with only nine lawmakers in attendance passed 53 bills in just two days, setting a world record of speedy working of democracy.

Furthermore, in his tweet on the social networking site X (Twitter), Rasheed said no industry was running in the country except the bill-manufacturing factory.

According to the former interior minister, politicians who didn't even understand what a law was were enacting laws without realizing that they would eventually become victims of their own legislation.

He claimed that because its only objective was to detain PTI Chairman Imran Khan, the ruling coalition failed to recognize unemployment, inflation, or the economic crisis as serious issues.

Attempts to detain the former premier would be very expensive for the government, according to Rasheed.

The AML chief said PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari considered the economic default as a “normal thing” because his wealth had been transferred abroad through man in the street.

He said, “If the government does not accept the decisions of the Supreme Court regarding the elections, then where will the nation go?”

Sheikh believed that a decision will be made soon regarding holding the country's elections concurrently.
