Paris: The global news agency company, Agence France Presse (AFP) has filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk's website, 'X'.
The agency alleges that the social media platform has failed to engage in negotiations for possible compensation related to the distribution of news content.
The legal action was initiated by AFP in Paris, where it accused the social media giant of disregarding the "Neighbors' Rights" law, enacted in 2019 by France.
The law compels major online platforms to negotiate with publishers for remuneration concerning the dissemination of news.
Elon Musk responded to the lawsuit brought by AFP, criticizing it as peculiar.
He asserted the agency's demand for compensation on their verification site.
