Khattak claims to overthrow Imran Khan’s government in one day
Nowshera: Federal Defence Minister, Pervez Khattak has claimed to overthrow Prime Minister Imran Khan's government in one day.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader made this statement while addressing an election rally in Nowshera.
“If I want to, I can overthrow Imran Khan's government in one day, but he has always favored me,” he said.
Khattak further stated that he can compete with the whole of Pakistan as even the opposition parties respect him.
“All opposition parties and my relatives have come together against my candidate in Nowshera’s by-elections, but I will defeat them all,” he said.
Pervez Khattak further said that when he was the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, he gave authoritative posts to his relatives.
“All these people are zero if I take those powers back from them,” he said.
Soon after, Khattak took to twitter to clarify his statement and wrote that he is sincere and indebted to Imran Khan.
“Clearly mentioned in my speech for the locals of my village in Nowshera that I’m sincere & indebted to Imran Khan.We are successful in our const. due to our efforts & support of IK. We will defeat all opp. parties ganged up against the candidate we are supporting for the by-elec,” he wrote on twitter.

It is pertinent to mention here that by-elections of Nowshera are scheduled on February 19 in PK-63. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced by-elections for three seats in Sindh and one each in Balochistan, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Provincial Assembly and one seat each in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for National Assembly.
