Bushra Bibi's bail extended in Kohsar police station case
Giving Bushra a last chance he directed investigating officer to include her in the investigation.
Islamabad: The District and Sessions Court Islamabad Tuesday extended the bail of Bushra Bibi in the case filed in Kohsar police station till September 07 and directed the investigation in other cases.
According to details, Duty Judge Muhammad Sohail Ahmed heard seven cases against Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi on May 09 incidents in District and Sessions Courts Islamabad in the presence of their lawyer Salman Safdar.
During the hearing, the prosecutor said that the chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is a criminal, he is imprisoned in the jail. On this, lawyer Salman Safdar said that the prosecutor is in a hurry to speak.
The judge inquired from the investigating officers that there was an investigation involving former Prime Minister Imran, to which the investigator told the court that PTI chief was not investigated in a few cases, the charge is of same nature.
Judge Sohail Ahmed said: “The investigating officer told that chairman PTI was investigated in one case but not in other five”.
Responding to which, Salman Safdar stated that they had filed a complaint on the previous hearing of the prosecution, to be investigated by the prosecution and contacted to be investigated but no response was received. PTI chief is currently in jail.
Lawyer Salman Safdar continued to say: “There is no criminal record against Chairman PTI for 71 years. He is the victim of political revenge. Imran used to appear in the court for bail on daily basis but he was not investigated purposefully.
Bushra Bibi reaches court
Former first lady Bushra Bibi reached the courtroom where Judge Muhammad Sohail asked the irrelevant people to leave the courtroom.
Lawyer Salman Safdar stated that Imran Khan is not deliberately absent from the court but is present in Attock Jail. He was arrested within 15 minutes soon after the verdict of Toshakhana case was announced.
On this, Judge Sohail said it is fine that Chairman PTI is in Attock Jail. He inquired the lawyer if he wants Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra to hear the bail pleas of Khan.
Salman Safdar said that even after the arrest in Tosha Khana case, the Supreme Court extended the bail of Chairman PTI.
Judge Sohail Ahmad said that everyone knows what happens if the accused does not appear on bail. However according to lawyer Salman, the situation of former prime minister is unusual.
Lawyer Salman Safdar asked if it was not in the notice of Supreme Court that Imran Khan was under arrest.
The prosecutor said his petition has been rejected. The petition had been filed to end the case of lawyer murder case in Supreme Court. To this, Salman Safdar said closing the case and bail on the case are different matters.
Bushra Bibi to be interrogated courtroom
Judge Sohail Ahmed inquired whether the former first lady has been included in the investigation. Giving Bushra a last chance he directed investigating officer to include her. Lawyer Salman told that his client is ready to be interrogated in the courtroom.
Judge Muhammad Sohail said that Bushra has assured that the investigation will be conducted today. According to Bushra Bibi, due to unusual circumstances, the investigation could not be conducted till now.
Lawyer Salman Safdar said that Bushra Bibi is a veiled woman, the investigating officer should join the investigation now. Judge directed to contact the officer and join the investigation.
Later, the court extended Bushra Bibi's bail till September 07 in the case filed in Kohsar police station and postponed the hearing of the case till September 07.
