Karachi: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) recovered a large amount of local and foreign currency during a raid on a flat in a residential building located on Khalid Bin Waleed Road in Karachi.
According to FIA, the raid was conducted at the residence of imported vehicles dealer and businessman Aziz Sekha at PECHS on the night of September 26.
It is reported that domestic and foreign currency notes recovered from the flat during the raid were hidden in pillow covers.
During the operation 23,000 dollars, more than 26 million Pakistani rupees, prize bond worth Rs0.55 million and two mobile phones were also recovered.
Officials said that all recovered money and mobile phones have been transferred to FIA Crime Circle while a case has been registered against the accused in FIA police station.
According to officials, Aziz Sekha deals in imported vehicles, whose house was raided after surveillance.
On the other hand, Customs, Police and Rangers raided two warehouses in Saeedabad Yusuf Goth. During the raid, smuggled goods worth millions of rupees have been seized from both the warehouses.
