Sarah Inam Murder Case: Court orders death sentence to Shahnawaz
Shah Nawaz has also been fined with the penalty of Rs1 million.
Islamabad: The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad Thursday ordered death sentence to criminal Shahnawaz Amir in the murder case of Sarah Inam.
According to the details, the court acquitted the accused's mother Sameena Shah due to lack of evidence who was the crime partner.
Shah Nawaz has also been fined with the penalty of Rs1 million.
Sessions Judge Nasir Javaid Rana pronounced the verdict which was reserved last week on December 9.
A 37-year-old economist Sarah Inam was allegedly killed with dumbbells attack by her husband Shahnawaz Amir, who is the son of journalist Ayaz Amir, in Islamabad’s Chak Shahzad area on September 23, 2022.
After which the husband Shahnawaz was arrested by the police from a farmhouse located in Chak Shahzad area of Islamabad for being a suspect in his wife's murder.
Later he confessed to killing her, saying he "thought" his spouse was having an illicit affair. The couple had tied the knot only three months before the incident.
