Power tariff likely to hike by Rs4.66 per unit

Islamabad: The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has submitted a petition to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to increase the price of electricity by Rs4.66 per unit.
According to NEPRA officials, the CPPA has sought an increase in the demand in view of the November fuel price adjustment.
NEPRA will hear the petition on December 27, if it will get approved, it will put an additional burden of Rs40 billion on consumers.
According to the authorities, the possible increase on the application of CPPA will not be applicable to K-electric consumers.
