Important points of PML-N manifesto for elections 2024

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Saturday released its election manifesto titled as ‘Bless Pakistan with True Manifesto’ during a ceremony held in Lahore.

On this occasion, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, party president Shehbaz Sharif and other leaders addressed the ceremony and Nawaz Sharif was overwhelmed while presenting the manifesto.

Some important points of the manifesto presented by Muslim League (N) for general elections 2024 are as follows:

Judicial reforms

  • Restoration of Articles 62 and 63 to their original state
  • Alternative system of judicial, legal, panchayat system and dispute settlement
  • Reformation of judicial, legal and justice system
  • Implementation of timely and effective judicial system
  • Effective, fair and timely prosecution
  • Decision of major and difficult cases within a year
  • Decision of small cases within two months
  • Abolishment of NAB
  • Strengthening anti-corruption institutions and agencies
  • Amendment in Penal Code 1898 and 1906
  • Live broadcast of court proceedings
  • Establishment of commercial courts
  • Better and stronger courts of overseas Pakistanis
  • Establishment of digital system in judiciary

Economic reforms

  • Reduction in inflation by 10% by FY 2025
  • Bringing inflation to 4-6 percent in four years
  • More than 10 million jobs in five years
  • Bringing down current account deficit to 1.5 percent of GDP
  • Bringing economic growth rate to more than 6% in three years
  • Target set to reduce proverty by 25% in five years
  • Target of annual remittance of manpower set at $40 billion
  • Reducing unemployment by 5% in five years
  • Target to reduce fiscal deficit to 3.5% or less in four years
  • Target to increase per capita income to $2,000 in five years
  • Target to take IT technology exports to Rs5 billion in five years
  • Exemption of internal taxes for exports

Education

  • Increase in budget for higher education by 0.5 percent
  • Target to increase access to higher education from 13% to 30%
  • Making five major cities of the country as IT cities

Foreign Policy

  • Development of relations with India on the basis of regional peace and economic development
  • Imperative that India withdraw its unconstitutional measures on Occupied Kashmir
  • Increase connectivity and improve effective border system for peace and trade with Afghanistan
  • Israel will raise its voice at the international level on the genocide of Palestinians
  • Working together with US on the issues of global economy, trade, counter-terrorism, etc

Energy

  • Generation of 10,000 megawatts of electricity from solar energy across the country

Protection of journalists

  • Prioritizing health insurance for journalists and media workers
  • Building media city in Islamabad

Protection of Minorities

  • Severe punishments to deal with incidents of violence against minorities
  • Zero tolerance policy against terrorism
  • Steps to prevent forced conversion of religion
  • Consensus to prevent population growth
