Dozens of missing people feared dead after a boat sank in a river in Nigeria.
According to details, the boat carrying about 200 people travelling from Niger state to neighboring Kebbi state broke and sank in the North-Western Nigeria. Most passengers were women and children.
Rescue officials reached the site after getting information and rescued about 20 people.
The concerned authorities are blaming Wednesday's accident on overloading; however, the actual cause of incident is yet to be ascertained.
President Muhammadu Buhari described the accident as "devastating", offering his condolences to the victims' families.
So far five bodies have been recovered and many are still missing.
Boat accidents along the River Niger are frequent with overcrowding and collisions with tree trunks under the water as major causes.
