Therefore, after the approval of ECC in gas prices then for further procedure the approval would be taken from federal cabinet.


Islamabad: Two day have remained in International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) dead line regarding to increase gas prices but it has not been decided yet to raise gas prices in the federal’s Economic Coordination Committee’s (ECC) session.
According to the details, ECC has decided to thoroughly analyze the summary of gas prices. If this hike of gas price would be applicable then this would be a third time in a year to raise the gas prices.
Moreover, gas consumers would be bear extra burden for almost 100 billion Rs on Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority’s (OGRA) suggestions.
The suggestion to raise gas prices is from January 1, 2024. It should be noted that the summary would be sending again for approval after being thoroughly analyzed.
Therefore, after the approval of ECC in gas prices then for further procedure the approval would be taken from federal cabinet.
After that the OGRA would issue a notification regarding the hike of gas prices.
