Lahore: The appointment of Federal Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin has been challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC).

According to details, Justice Sajid Mehmood Sethi heard the petition of Farid Adil challenging the appointment of federal minister.
The petition states that the appointment of Shaukat Tareen is against the principles laid down in the Constitution.
“Only an elected person can be made a federal minister. The decision to appoint him should be declared null and void,” he said.
Objecting to the admissibility of the petition, the Deputy Attorney General said that the President of Pakistan has issued notification of appointment of Shaukat Tarin as Finance Minister.
The Deputy Attorney General said that this is not the jurisdiction of Lahore High Court and the petition can only be filed in Islamabad.
The federal government, law ministry and Shaukat Tarin have been made parties in the petition.
The court has called for further arguments on the admissibility of the petition on June 01.
