Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan accepted on Friday the apology tendered by Senator Faisal Vawda and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) MNA Mustafa Kamal and withdrew the contempt of court notice issued to them.
The court's order, read by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, states that both the parliamentarians -- Senator Faisal Vawda and Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Mustafa Kamal -- have realised that the words they used were inappropriate.
"They have now withdrawn their statement and tendered an unconditional apology to the court," read the order.
On May 17, a three-judge SC bench had issued contempt notices to independent Senator Vawda and Mustafa MNA Kamal for several “malicious” allegations against the judiciary and the judges.
