Lahore: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested nine terrorists during 71 Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) in different cities of Punjab in view of terrorism concerns.
According to the spokesperson of CTD, these operations were carried out in Lahore, Mianwali, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Jhelum, Chakwal. Meanwhile, a dangerous terrorist of Fitna Al-Khawarij was arrested from Mianwali and a dangerous terrorist of Daesh from Faisalabad.
According to the spokesman, explosives, two hand grenades, 26 detonators, 73 feet of safety fuse wire, bullets and weapons, mobile phones, and cash were recovered from the terrorists.
According to the spokesman, the terrorists have been identified as Abdul Karim, Usman, Imran Siddiqui, Shani, Shaukat, Ahmed Khan, Shiraz Mahmood, Saeed-ur-Rehman and Mustajab.
The spokesperson said that the terrorists wanted to spread fear and panic among the people by operating at different places. CTD arrested 78 suspects during 978 combing operations this week and 34,694 people were questioned in combing operations.
