Court sought arguments from both petitioners regarding admissibility of petitions

Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) ordered to submit both petitions against the Practice and Procedure Ordinance 2024 collectively.
Chief Justice LHC Alia Neelam heard Munir Ahmed Advocate's application against Practice and Procedure Ordinance 2024, while Azhar Siddique Advocate did not appear in court.
The Chief Justice LHC remarked that the same questions have been raised in both the petitions, on which the court ordered to submit both the petitions together.
The court sought arguments from both the petitioners regarding the admissibility of the petitions.
LHC summoned the Attorney General and Advocate General for assistance on October 7. The court also directed to provide a copy of Iftikhar Ahmed's new application to the public prosecutor.
The stand taken by the petitioner is that the Presidential Ordinance is malicious as it cannot increase or reduce the powers of the Supreme Court. The Court should declare the Presidential Ordinance invalid and order to stop its implementation till the final decision of the petition.
