Alvi applauds Iran for upholding dignity of Muslims
Ex-President reiterated Quaid-e-Azam’s stance on Palestine
Lahore: Former president Dr Arif Alvi on Thursday expressed gratitude to Iran for "upholding the dignity of Muslims".
Talking to media, he condemned Israel’s actions, stating, that Israel is committing massive injustices that must be stopped. Israel is behaving like thugs, destroying Muslim nations. Alvi said that it’s time for Muslim countries to unite and take a stand.
Alvi also reiterated Quaid-e-Azam’s stance on Palestine, stressing that "Palestine belongs to the Palestinians," and expressed concern over the current state of democracy.
Alvi further blamed the amendments being passed by what he referred to as a "fake assembly,". What was the need to focus on Article 63 during the political turmoil, he questioned.
He also harshly criticised the Bhutto family, accusing it of "destroying the constitution" and running the country's system with cruelty. Alvi highlighted that no political leader, including PTI's founder, received relief under the constitution.
In a pointed remark, Alvi stated that the situation had deteriorated. He added that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) remains a peaceful party, but its workers face police brutality at every gathering.
