Kamala Harris declares no one-on-one talks with Putin without Ukraine's representation
US presidential candidate says not bilaterally without Ukraine
Washington DC: Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris asserted that if elected, she would refuse to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin for peace negotiations unless Ukraine was also present.
In a recent interview, Harris stated, "Not bilaterally without Ukraine, no. Ukraine must have a say in the future of Ukraine."
Harris criticised her Republican rival Donald Trump's stance on Ukraine, labeling his policies as a "surrender" to Russian aggression. She argued that under Trump’s leadership, “Putin would be sitting in Kyiv right now,” expressing concern over potential concessions to Russia.
The Biden administration has already established a firm stance against unilateral talks with Putin, aligning with Harris’s commitment to including Ukraine in any future discussions. Additionally, Harris mentioned that she would address Ukraine's NATO membership aspirations "if and when it arrives at that point," indicating her support for the country's integration into Western alliances.
