Asad Umar warns of fourth Covid-19 wave in Pakistan
Islamabad: Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Asad Umar has warned of a fourth wave of Covid-19 in Pakistan in July in case of non-compliance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Taking to twitter, the minister who also heads National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) said that they reviewed the artificial intelligence based disease modeling analysis and it has been observed that in the absence of strong SOP enforcement and continued strong vaccination program, the fourt wave could emerge in Pakistan in July.
“Please adhere to SOPs and vaccinate as soon as possible," he stressed.

Pakistan’s registered death toll from coronavirus infections rose towards 22,000 but some data suggested the spread of the disease has been contained.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 1,052 cases of coronavirus were reported while 44 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 22,152.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 952,907.
In Balochistan, there are 26,893 confirmed cases while 304 patients have died from the infection so far.
