'E-Inventory Management System' first time in Punjab
Convenience and transparency in the departmental audit have been ensured
Lahore: The Punjab Interior Department introduced ‘Punjab E-Inventory Management System’ for the first time.
The first-of-its-kind inventory management system will enable real-time monitoring of all procurement and available resources and items used by every officer and staff of the department can be seen. Record of procurements worth Rs5 billion of the Department of Interior and attached departments are available in the e-inventory system while more than 19,000 assets are recorded in e-inventory management system.
From the paper and pen available in the department to the modern scientific machinery, the record has been entered into the system. Besides the items used by the officers, real-time information is also available about the resources in the store. Thanks to the e-inventory system, convenience and transparency in the departmental audit have been ensured.
The record of available resources will also help in future budget planning. Interior Secretary Punjab had directed to launch e-inventory management system in all affiliated institutions.
IT team of the Home Department is training all affiliated departments on the e-Inventory Management System. Home Department developed an e-inventory management system with its resources in three weeks at no extra cost.
