Lahore: The Jamaat-e-Islami chief has announced that a countrywide protest will be held against the federal budget 2021-2022 and anti-people policies of the government.

Addressing a press conference, JI Ameer Sirajul Haq termed the new budget anti-public, saying inflation and unemployment are on the rise in the country and the new budget has failed to tackle that.
He pointed out that nations grow by increasing resources and not by increasing debts, adding that Pakistan needs to work on its industries and agriculture so that jobs could be created.
“Presently, half of Pakistan- Kashmir- has been occupied by India, while the other has been taken over by the IMF.”
Haq said the economy has been put on the “ventilator” and loans are its “oxygen”.
“Under pressures from IMF and FATF, we have reached a point where our national assets are being leased out.”
The JI has rejected the “useless and loan-based” budget passed by the PTI government, he added.
