Drugs recovered from bag of Qatar-bound passenger
2kg heroin, 1kg ice recovered from bag of passenger going to Doha at Peshawar Airport
Rawalpindi: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) recovered a huge quantity of drugs from a Qatar-bound passenger’s bag.
According to the spokesperson, the ANF is continuing its crackdown against drug smuggling in educational institutions and various cities of the country. In this regard, seven accused were arrested in six different operations and 83.3 kg of drugs worth more than Rs10 million were recovered.
Operations in educational institutions
ANF officials recovered 1,200kg of hashish from a suspect on KKH Road in Haripur, in which the suspect also confessed to selling drugs to students of educational institutions.
Other operations
2kg of heroin and one kg of ice were recovered from the trolley bag of a passenger going to Doha at Peshawar International Airport. Similarly, 43,200kg of hashish and 16,800 kg of opium hidden in the secret compartments of a vehicle near Ravi Toll Plaza Lahore were recovered and the suspect was arrested.
Meanwhile, 13,200kg of hashish was recovered from the possession of the accused near Kot Momin Sargodha. In addition, a total of 4,600kg of hashish was recovered from two accused on M-1 Motorway, Islamabad. 1,300kg of ice was recovered from the accused on Sakhi Sarwar Road in Dera Ghazi Khan.
Cases have been registered against the accused arrested in all the operations under the Narcotics Control Act and investigations have been initiated.
