Enemy worried of Pakistan's progress despite political agenda, toxic narrative: DG ISPR
He added that in the year 2024, 925 terrorists were killed
Rawalpindi: Director General (DG) Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that the Pakistani armed forces have fought and are fighting a long war against terrorism.
DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, while holding a press conference in Rawalpindi, stated that the highest number of terrorists were killed this year in five years. The Pakistani armed forces successfully foiled many terrorist plans. The Pakistani armed forces also recovered a large number of weapons from the terrorists in operations.
He added that in the year 2024, 925 terrorists, including many prominent names, were killed and 73 most wanted terrorists were killed in operations.
He further said that two suicide bombers were taken into custody while 14 wanted terrorists surrendered, and 383 officers and soldiers were martyred.
The DG ISPR said that Pakistan has made efforts to establish peace in Afghanistan. Despite all efforts of Pakistan, terrorists from Afghan soil are committing terrorism in Pakistan. The fabric of terrorism reaches Afghanistan, no effort will be spared to eliminate the networks of terrorists.
He also stated that the Pakistan Army is capable of giving a befitting reply to any aggression by India. India has kept the oppression high in occupied Kashmir which is in front of the world. India is openly violating international laws in occupied Kashmir. We stand with the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir.
He said that India is also involved in the killing of Sikhs in other countries. Minorities are being genocided under a conspiracy in India. Our principled position is that we will continue to provide legal, diplomatic, and moral support to the oppressed people of occupied Kashmir.
He added that the entire nation has to fight against the scourge of terrorism together with the institutions because a safe Pakistan is a strong Pakistan. There is a spectrum of terrorism, extortion and smuggling worth billions of rupees in Pakistan.
DGR ISPR also stated that terrorism will end when there is justice, education, health, and good governance. Terrorism will end when the nexus of terrorism and crime ends. There is an illegal spectrum worth billions of rupees in Pakistan, of which fake news is also a part.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that more than 800,000 illegal Afghans have been sent back, steps are also being taken to secure the country's digital borders. A false, artificial narrative of a sense of deprivation is being created in Balochistan.
He said that talks and contact have been ongoing with the Afghan interim government for two years. We are telling them the same thing that both countries are brotherly. The Afghan government is being convinced to stop the sedition of the Khawarij and facilitation. A clear policy is in place, and we respect Afghanistan's sovereignty. Legal and technical action is being taken to secure the digital border.
