Body of actor Humaira Asghar found in Karachi flat after 20 days
Police say woman had been living alone in apartment since 2018

Karachi: The decomposed body of actor and model Humaira Asghar was found on Tuesday in a flat located in Karachi's Defence Housing Authority (DHA), police said.
The 32-year-old had reportedly been dead for nearly 20 days when her body was found. Police said the woman had been living alone in the apartment since 2018. She had been paying rent till 2024, after which payments ceased.
Darakhshan SHO Farooq Sanjrani said the landlord had approached the court for eviction proceedings. A police team, accompanied by a bailiff, arrived at the residence to take possession of the property.
Upon arrival, the flat was found locked from the inside. When the officers forced entry, they discovered the body in a decomposed state in one of the rooms.
Authorities transferred the remains to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for further investigation. The flat has since been sealed, and police said a thorough inquiry is underway.
While the cause of death remains undetermined, police suspect it may have been due to natural causes. A post-mortem examination will be carried out to ascertain the exact cause. Police said no contact has been made with any relatives of the deceased so far.
