Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Announcing the news, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb tweeted that PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif has tested COVID positive and quarantined herself.
She also prayed for the speedy recovery of all patients including PML-N leader Maryam.

The coronavirus situation is worsening in Pakistan with each passing day as a country on Tuesday reported over 4,000 new COVID-19 cases for the second consecutive day as the virus keeps spreading across the country, official data showed.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 4,119 cases of coronavirus were reported while 46 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 23,133.
The total number of confirmed cases reached 1,015,827.
As many as 935,742 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,898 critical cases.
