In bid to promote interfaith harmony, Sarwat Geelani shares video celebrating 'Raksha Bandhan' with Hindu cook
Karachi: Acclaimed Pakistani actress recently celebrated Raksha Bandhan for a cook named Ghaneesh and shared an adorable video of her performing the rituals on social media.

On her official Instagram handle, Sarwat shared the endearing video on her stories section. In video, she was also accompanied by her sons who were holding Pakitan’s flag in their hands.
“Rakhi Bandhan for our cook Ganaish,” the caption read.
The 38-year-old actress further added, “Minorities in Pakistan should be made to feel welcomed and loved by every Pakistani”.

Most fans liked Sarwat’s deed of kindness and sweet gesture towards his cook, who belongs to Pakistan’s Hindu minority, but some people also criticized her for getting services from a Hindu cook.
Sarwat Geelani is a phenomenal actress who has worked in several acclaimed Pakistani dramas, telefilms and movies as well.
The Lolywood star was nominated for the Lux Style Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Jawaani Phir Nahi Aani.
Sarwat is married to a versatile actor Fahad Mirza who is also a plastic surgeon by profession. The couple has two sons.
Raksha Bandhan, the occasion that honours the deep bond of love between siblings was celebrated Sunday (August 22). The word Raksha Bandhan roughly gets translated to ‘protection’ and ‘bond’. It is one of the biggest festivals celebrated in India as a tribute to the siblings.
‘Rakhi’ symbolises the sacred thread of protection tied on the right wrists of brothers by sisters, traditionally.
