6.5 magnitude quake jolts northern central Taiwan
An earthquake of 6.5 magnitude has jolted northern central Taiwan on Sunday morning, the European Mediterranean Seismological center (EMSC) reported.
Taipei: An earthquake of 6.5 magnitude has jolted northern central Taiwan on Sunday morning, the European Mediterranean Seismological center (EMSC) reported.
As per details, the depth of the earth quake was of 40 kilometer (25 miles).
As per initial reports, the magnitude of earthquake was 6.2, however, reports quoting sources said that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 22.7 kilometers south of Yilan County Hall with 6.5 magnitude.
The temblor’s intensity was felt in several adjoining areas including, Yilan County, Hualien County, New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Taipei City, Taichung City, Nantou County, Hsinchu County, Keelung City, Miaoli County, and Hsinchu City.
So far, no injuries or causalities have been reported yet.
