Karachi: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Advocate Qadir Khan Mandokhail has challenged the Senate nomination of Water Resources Minister Faisal Vawda.

According to details, Advocate Mandokhail filed a petition in the election tribunal challenging the returning officer’s decision to approve Vawda’s nomination papers.
In his petition, he stated that the federal minister did not reveal about his United States (US) citizenship, adding that he doesn’t deserve to hold any public post.
The returning officer did not listen to any reservations against Vawda’s appointment, the petition added.
Qadir Khan Mandokhail has requested the court to reject nomination papers of Faisal Vawda and disqualify him for Senate elections.
Earlier, opposition parties had criticized Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) for giving senate ticket to Faisal Vawda due to the case of dual nationality pending against him in Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the last two and a half years.
At the same time, PTI Central Sindh Region officials had expressed serious concerns over the issue of Senate tickets.
