ECP allots election symbols to 23 political parties
A hearing was held in the ECP on the requests for allotment of electoral symbols to the political parties for the upcoming general elections.
Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday allotted election symbols to 23 political parties for the next general elections.

The ECP rejected the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party's (IPP) request to be given the Shaheen (Eagal) symbol during the hearing but granted the sword to the Pakistan People's Party.
The IPP received the Chiriya (Sparrow) electoral symbol from the ECP.
In response to a request from the IPP and the All Pakistan Muslim League, the ECP postponed the ruling. The ECP stated that IPP requested the Shaheen symbol, which was already included in APML.
The plea for IPP to receive the Shaheen election emblem was denied by the ECP.
The IPP registration was still pending, according to the ECP, and the party was required to provide the required documents.
On the other hand, the ECP awarded the symbol of book to Jamiat Ulema Islam (F), cup to Peoples
Muslim League, ring to Jamiat-e-Islam, bucket to Kisan Etihad and moon to Hazara Democratic Party while Pakistan Awami League was allotted hockey as election symbol.
Furthermore, the Pakistan Humanity Movement received a knife, the Pakistan Peace Movement received a missile, the Pakistan Protection Movement received a pistol, the Pakistan People's Party Bhutto Shaheed received a victory, the Pakistan Welfare Movement received a waistcoat, the JUI ideological received a plaque, the Modern Awami Party received a helmet, and Tehreek Awam Pakistan received a phone.
All Pakistan Muslim League agreed to submit to intra-party elections at the ECP's request, and the organization pledged to organize the polls within 40 days.
