Islamabad: In a major crackdown against beggars here, assistant Commissioners have arrested dozens of professional beggars in recent days.
The operation is being carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon, who has directed the assistant commissioners to take strict action against beggars.
The assistant commissioner secretariat arrested 12 beggars from different areas of the Secretariat subdivision on Monday. The beggars were taken to the police station.
The official source said that the operation against beggars would be continued.
