It has been pleaded that the court should annul the decision of the trial court on December 14 and acquit Shahnawaz from the case.

Islamabad: Sarah Inam murder case convict Shahnawaz Amir Wednesday filed an appeal against the death sentence verdict.
Shahnawaz Amir, who was sentenced to death in the Sarah Inam murder case, has challenged the decision of the trial court of death sentence in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
In the petition filed through Advocate Nisar Asghar, it has been stated that the trial court ordered the death penalty for Shahnawaz Amir and acquitted the co-accused Samina Shah. The decision cannot be sustained in the eyes of law.
The petition further stated that the prosecution had concocted a story for the charge sheet and the prosecution had completely failed to produce any concrete evidence.
In the petition, it has been pleaded that the court should annul the decision of the trial court on December 14 and acquit Shahnawaz from the case.
It is pertinent to note that Sarah Inam was killed by her husband Shahnawaz Amir in Islamabad on September 23, 2022, and the trial court had sentenced him to death and a penalty of Rs1 million.
