Islamabad: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the first time after assuming the post of Prime Minister, in which important issues were discussed.
According to the spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, Army Chief General Asim Munir met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad.
In the meeting, the Army Chief congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on assuming the post of Prime Minister and expressed his best wishes.
During the meeting, the professional and security issues of the Pakistan Army were discussed between them.
It is pertinent to note that yesterday, during the 263rd Corps Commander's Conference chaired by the Army Chief, the forum expressed its views and said that it is unfortunate that the attention of vested interests is focused on creating political instability.
The participants of the conference paid tribute to the great sacrifices of the martyrs including the officers, jawans, law enforcement agencies and civilians of the armed forces.
During the Corps Commander Conference, the forum vowed, ‘The state will deal with full force against all terrorists, their facilitators and their encouragers working at the behest of hostile forces to destabilize Pakistan’.
