California: A man has shot and killed his three children, one other person (chaperone) and himself during a supervised visit at a church in Sacramento, California, authorities said.
Four people were killed Monday night when a father fatally shot three of his children and one other person at a church.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, died by suicide after killing four, officials said.
According to preliminary details, the gunman was estranged from the children's mother, who had a restraining order against him.
A church employee heard the gunshots and called 911. The shooting occurred in the main sanctuary area.
Deputies responded to reports of gunfire around 5 pm.
Reportedly, the victims included three juveniles under 15 years of age. The identity of the other victim wasn't immediately known.
Authorities are investigating it as a domestic violence incident.
Officials didn't know if the family members belonged to the church, which sits on a mostly residential block near a commercial area east of downtown Sacramento.
Moreover, it wasn’t immediately known how many people were at the church or if there were any services or activities at the time of the incident.
