Lahore: World Water Day is being observed today to raise awareness about the importance of fresh water and the sustainable management of freshwater resources.
This year's theme of the day is "Groundwater: making the invisible visible."
In a message in connection with World Water Day, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said the government is committed to constructing new water reserves for the coming generations.
He said securing the depleting water reserves is a national obligation.
The Chief Minister said Pakistan has the best water resources and the country can be made prosperous by the best utilization of water.
