Govt made plan to buy 3.5 million metric wheat: CM Punjab
"Wheat will be purchased from farmers at Rs 2200 per maund"
Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Monday has said that wheat will be purchased from farmers at Rs 2200 per maund.
CM Usman Buzdar said that the Punjab government has made a plan to buy 3.5 million metric wheat.
He said that a committee consisting of eight members have been formed for the purchasing purpose. "Provincial ministers, special advisors, and ministers will monitor purchasing of wheat in relevant districts,” he concluded.
Yesterday, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has approved the Ramzan package of Rs eight billion.
Talking to the media Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said that Provincial Cabinet has approved Ramzan package 2022. “The government will give a subsidy of Rs 4 billion for provision of cheap flour,” he added.
There will be a discount of Rs100 on a bag of 10kg flour. Sugar will be Rs10 per kg cheaper than markets. As many as 13 daily use items will be available at the rates of 2021 in ‘Ramzan bazaars’.
