Lahore: PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz said on Tuesday that Prime Minister Imrab Khan, in a bid to save his government, not only used a "fake letter" based on an "unfounded conspiracy", but he also misused the platform of the National Security Committee (NSC).

Adressing a presser, Maryam rejected PM Imran's statement that the "threat letter" was sent by a US diplomat, saying no such letter existed on grounds.

"You have already read out the contents of the letter that you were trying to hide," she said to the premier. "Then why is it that you are not showing the letter to anyone?" She alleged that the letter was drafted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Maryam said once PM Imran realised that he had made the letter's story public and wanted to hide his hoax, he sent the concerned ambassador to Brussels immediately so that no one could question him.

"I ask, where is the ambassador today who had received the letter?" she said.

Maryam said the NSC was not a committee to save Imran Khan, urging the security agencies to issue a clarification regarding the letter.

The PML-N leaders also grilled the premier for causing historic infltion in the country.
