Surabaya: A horrific moment was captured at Indonesia’s Kenjeran Park, in the city of Surabaya located in the Indonesian province of East Java, when a giant water slide broke in half and crashed to the ground.
According to local media reports, footage of the incident, which took place on May 7, has gone viral on social media showed a section of the water slide collapsed and riders plummeting from a height of around 10 metres to the ground below.
According to local reports, the injured were treated in the hospital.
The incident prompted Surabaya City Deputy Mayor Armuji to demand an immediate inspection of other amusement parks in the region to prevent similar accidents in the future. According to media reports, the deputy mayor reminded amusement park owners to take responsibility and follow the necessary safety measures to protect the welfare of their visitors.
Mayor Eri Cahyadi, on the other hand, said, “The Surabaya Municipality will provide trauma healing assistance to all victims, which will be carried out by the offices. You will be followed until your full recovery.”
