COAS assures business community of country’s development
He expressed confidence that we would overcome current economic difficulties.
Islamabad: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir met ten leading businessmen of the country in the presence of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and assured them that Pakistan will develop and we will emerge as a prosperous nation, GNN reported.
COAS said that Pakistan will successfully come out of the difficult economic situation and risk of default had diminished.
Army chief appeared optimistic throughout the meeting and expressed confidence that the current economic difficulties would be overcome.
Asim Munir asked the entrepreneurs to be determined and confident as nations face hardships, adding that, “We are in difficult times but we have left the worst behind and will remain strong”.
Finance Minister and COAS told the businessmen that all the pre-conditions of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have been fulfilled and the agreement will be concluded within a few days.
Businessmen were told that friendly countries have also pledged to invest in agriculture, mining and IT sectors.
Talking about political situation of Pakistan, General Asim clearly stated that army will not interfere in political affairs, adding that political leadership should solve its own problems.
