Islamabad: The accused who was brought to appear in the District and Sessions Court Islamabad had been shot dead outside the court.

According to details, the incident took place in the district court, where an accused was being taken to Bakhshi Khana— prisoner room— after appearing in the court, when a person opened fire.

The accused died on the spot while the attacker who fired had been arrested by the police along with his 9MM weapon.

It is reported that the deceased accused had been identified as Zawar aged 30 to 35 years. He was a resident of Charsadda and two cases were registered against him in Koral police station. Zawar was arrested for accusation of theft and torture.

According to the spokesperson of Islamabad Police, the suspect who opened fire has been identified as Salman and was related to the victim.

Taking notice of the incident, Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan ordered the Capital Police Officer (CPO) Security to inquire into the matter and submit a report.

On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Murad Saeed shared the video of the incident to his Twitter account and referred it to the security situation in the courts of Pakistan.

He wrote: “And this government and its facilitators are determined to make Imran Khan go round the courts”.

Murad stated that there had been two suicide attacks in this court, adding that the security threats faced by Imran Khan are on record.

“One murder attack has happened in front of the world and countless attempts have been made behind the scenes,” added PTI leader.
