Islamabad: Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood on Sunday announced that exams for class nine to 12 will be held after fourth week of the next month.
The federal minister said this after chairing an emergency meeting of all provincial ministers was called on Sunday following which it was decided to resume classes even in districts that are affected by the novel coronavirus.
“Classes 9 to 12 would commence in affected districts in a staggered manner,” the minister tweeted.
He further added that the move will allow students to prepare for Board exams.

While announcing examination dates the minister wrote that for grades 9 to 12, exams will take place according to the new date sheets announced by the Boards which means exams will not start before 4th week of May.

The federal minister further wrote, “It was also decided with complete consensus among ministers that A, AS, O level and IGCSE exams will take place as per date sheet announced by CAIES”.
“There will be no delay or cancellation” he confirmed.

As per meeting it was also decided that Cambridge exams will be held as per schedule with a slight change in dates for exams.
“Meeting was also informed that Cambridge has decided not to give teacher assessed grades this year therefore those not taking exams will take them in the next cycle Oct/Nov”.
Shafqat Mahmood concluded that Cambridge assured that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will be strictly followed.
