Karachi Mayor vows to transform the city by completely banning wall chalking and plastic bags.
Karachi: Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab has pledged to turn Karachi into a “clean and green” city by cracking down on wall chalking and imposing a complete ban on plastic bags.
In a meeting held at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) head office, the mayor emphasized the strict implementation of laws.
Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad expressed his gratitude to the people of Karachi for placing their trust in the city's new leadership.
He highlighted the financial stabilization of KMC as a top priority and stressed the need for cleaning drains, especially in anticipation of the upcoming monsoon season.
Murad assured citizens that visible improvements would be witnessed within the next hundred days.
Mayor Wahab was warmly welcomed upon his arrival at the head office, with KMC officers and employees.
Barrister Wahab emphasized that the city's basic infrastructure would be a priority, with a focus on road maintenance and the provision of adequate street lighting.
