ECP to hold polls before October 11 if NA dissolved on August 12
Zafar Iqbal further said election will be held on old constituencies.
Islamabad: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Special Secretary Zafar Iqbal said if the assembly is dissolved on August 12, then the election will be held before October 11. If the assembly is dissolved before August 12, then election will be held within three months.
Addressing a media briefing, Zafar Iqbal further said that we will get security personnel, election will be held on old constituencies.
He added: “Water mark paper has been arranged for election, all institutions are in touch in us, we have approached judiciary for District Returning Officer (DRO) and Returning Officer (RO) and are completely ready for election, and materials have been prepared and have also requested ROs from registrar High Courts”.
Zafar Iqbal said that Election Commission can deploy administrative officers, its own officers and judicial officers who will conduct elections according to the new electoral reforms.
