Landslide kills three people near Skardu
It has been raining intermittently for several days in Skardu, while there is a flood situation in Chilas city and Diamar.
Skardu: At least three people have been killed under the debris and two other sustained the injuries as a result of landslides near Skardu due to rain.
According to rescue officials, the dead include a mother and two children, while the father was transferred to the hospital with injuries. Another person who was buried under the mountain for a long time has been rescued.
It has been raining intermittently for several days in Skardu, while there is a flood situation in Chilas city and Diamar.
Apart from this, 13 people died in various accidents due to the rains across the country earlier on yesterday (Sunday). The meteorological department has predicted rain with wind and thunder in most parts of the country today (Monday).
On the other hand, the recent monsoon rains caused loss of life and property in Balochistan. Six deaths occurred in different incidents in Awaran, Qila Saifullah, Zhob and Khuzdar, while four houses were completely destroyed. Cattle were also washed away in flood channels.
In Sindh province, there was heavy rain in Jacobabad, Shikarpur and adjoining areas. Moreover earlier on Sunday in Karachi, there was light rain in areas of the city and only drizzle in some places.
