Zaheran: A terrorist attack that resulted in the tragic loss of four police officers in Zahedan, the provincial capital of Sistan-Balochistan in Iran.
According to Iranian media reports, authorities have confirmed the incident and have issued orders to apprehend those responsible for the attack.
The assailants targeted a police vehicle, launching a deadly assault before fleeing the scene.
As of now, the identity and motives of the attackers remain unclear.
Sistan-Balochistan province shares borders with Pakistan and Afghanistan, making it a region of strategic importance.
Unfortunately, it is also known as one of Iran's most impoverished areas, grappling with drug smuggling routes and related criminal activities.
