Former Prime Minister of Thailand, Thaksin Shinawatra imposed exile to avoid imprisonment.


Thailand: Former Prime Minister of Thailand Thaksin Shinawatra was detained after 15 years of self-imposed exile.
The Thaksin is arrested when he came back to Thailand.
As reported by International media, Thaksin Shinawatra has returned under a plea deal.
The former prime minister will only serve a short term in prison.
Former prime minister's sister Yingluck posted pictures on social media in which Shinawatra can be seen hugging her sister Yingluck before departure.
In a video, Thaksin was seen shaking hands with officials and waving before boarding the plane.
Thaksin was convicted of abuse of power in 2008 after the military overthrew him on corruption charges.
