Sindh Building Control Authority and all development authorities to enforce ban.

Karachi: Sindh's Minister for Municipalities, Mehwish Jamani, has imposed an immediate restriction on new constructions in compliance with new regulations.
According to an issued notification by the Department of Municipalities, the ban encompasses all types of buildings, houses, and commercial plazas.
It covers building plans, layouts, and plot integrations.
The ban will be enforced by the Sindh Building Control Authority and all development authorities.
Karachi Development Authority, Malir Development Authority, and Lyari Development Authority have all received instructions in this regard.
As per the Department of Municipalities, the restriction on construction and approvals for designs, layouts, and plans will remain in effect until further notice.
The ban will also be applicable to Hyderabad Development Authority, Sukkur Development Authority, and the Town Planning Department.
It should be noted that the cessation of development could potentially lead to various challenges. Industries such as the manufacturing sector may face increased unemployment due to halted operations.
The ongoing struggles of the Pakistan Steel Mills, which were already grappling with severe issues, could be further aggravated.
While Pakistan's economy is already grappling with a range of challenges, this move by the Sindh government may not provide any significant benefits to the economy and could potentially exacerbate public concerns.
