DC Lahore Rafia Haider claimed that factories and automobiles that generate smoke are also subject to a severe crackdown.


Lahore: The deputy commissioner of Lahore Rafia Haider on Thursday imposed section 144 on burning agricultural waste and warned people that violations will result in prosecutions being filed.
Section 144 enforced on burning crop residues to prevent smog. Therefore, the authorities in Lahore have decided to take strict actions to control smog.
Furthermore, a case will be registered for burning crop residue and garbage.
According to Lahore DC, burning crop leftovers in the city and its environs is a major contributor to smog.
The burning of solid garbage, tires, plastic, polythene bags, rubber, and leather will all be outlawed, according to Lahore DC.
She also said that violators of the prohibition will face harsh punishment.
