Interim PM Kakar leaves for US
The SDG summit will be held in New York on September 18 and 19 in conjunction with the high-level week of the General Assembly.
Islamabad: Interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar departed for New York to represent Pakistan at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Sunday.
According to a press statement from the PM Office Media Wing, the interim prime minister will meet with world leaders outside of the meeting during his visit.
The interim premier will also will also attend a significant climate change summit.
PM Kakar also has meetings with important US think tanks and foreign media outlets.
PM Kakar will attend an SDG summit during his visit to the UN headquarters, according to Pakistan's UN representative Munir Akram, who made the announcement at a news briefing in New York on Wednesday.
The SDG summit will be held in New York on September 18 and 19 in conjunction with the high-level week of the General Assembly.
The mobilization of funds for the SDGs will be discussed by the prime minister, according to Ambassador Akram. The big event, of course, will be his yearly policy announcement in his presentation to the General Assembly.
According to the envoy, the prime minister will also deliver the keynote address at another summit on funding for development.
