Bushra Bibi has taken legal action to ensure safety measures for her husband in Adiala Jail.

Islamabad: Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, has taken legal action to ensure the safety and security of her husband while he is in detention.
In a petition submitted to the Islamabad High Court, Bushra Bibi addressed the Secretaries of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Law, IG Prisons, Superintendent of Adiala Jail, DG Intelligence Bureau, and DG FIA, making them party to her plea.
The crux of the petition revolves around concerns that Chairman PTI Imran Khan may be at risk of food poisoning while in jail.
Bushra Bibi has expressed her deep apprehension that her husband's safety might be compromised due to the possibility of tainted food being served to him during his incarceration.
Furthermore, the petition highlights allegations that Imran Khan has not been afforded the proper facilities to which he is entitled under the jail manual.
It asserts that the inhumane treatment of Imran Khan while in jail constitutes a violation of Articles 9 and 14 of the Constitution.
Notably, Imran Khan has been denied the privilege of having home-cooked meals, a practice that had been extended to other prisoners in the past.
The petition earnestly calls upon the authorities to take immediate steps to ensure the security and safety of Chairman PTI during his time in prison.
It emphasizes the necessity of providing unadulterated food under the supervision of a responsible medical officer, as the consumption of tainted food could pose a serious threat to his life.
Additionally, the petition underscores that Imran Khan is an under-trial prisoner, and according to legal principles, he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
As such, it implores the court to enforce orders ensuring the provision of proper facilities in accordance with the law for individuals detained in jail.
