New York: The United Nations Security Council witnessed a pivotal moment on Thuas Russia and China united to veto a resolution presented by the United States in support of Israel.

The resolution was brought forward during a Security Council meeting addressing the situation in Gaza, marking a significant diplomatic confrontation on the international stage.

The vote on the American resolution in support of Israel resulted in 10 countries casting their ballots in favor.

However, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) took a clear stance by voting against it, and Brazil and Mozambique chose not to participate in the voting process.

Surprisingly, the US-proposed resolution refrained from condemning the tragic loss of Palestinian lives.

In response to the resolution's failure, the Russian delegate pointed an accusatory finger at the United States, asserting that the proposal implicitly justified Israeli attacks.

He emphasized that self-defense should not be a carte blanche for Israel's military actions, calling for a more balanced and just approach.

The Russian delegate went further, contending that the United States' actions were hindering the Security Council's ability to make necessary decisions and contributing to the ongoing impasse.

Concurrently, the Chinese delegate argued that any cease-fire should prioritize humanitarian concerns over political interests.

Emphasizing the need for unhindered humanitarian aid to reach the beleaguered population in Gaza, the Chinese delegate advocated for a more compassionate perspective.

The joint veto by Russia and China garnered appreciation from the United Arab Emirates.
